It is finally that snuggle up weather where you can get all your winter coats and wolly hats out! Apart from the obvious feeling cold, the change in weather can also effect the condition of our skin, due to the air being more dry, with sharp cold winds, and the use of heaters. This can cause our skin to struggle to retain moisture, causing it to be dull and dry. This can contribut to dark circles and lines. One of the best ways to tackle this is to add a facial oil as your final step in your routine. This will provide a barrier on your skin to lock in moisture. A great facial oil can also have other properties in it that help fight other problems such as acne wrinkles, and free radicals. TOP 5 TIPS:
1. Make sure your oil is non- comedogenic. This will mean that it is non clogging and is easily absorbed by the skin
2. Choose an natural aroma blended oil as it will have added benefits, so will not only lock in moisture but will tackle other skin concerns. A natural aroma blended oil is a base oil (e.g. sweet almond oil) correctly blended with essential oils (e.g tummeric, eucalyptus, mango etc) the essential oils contains specific properties such as antibacterial, healing, etc that can benefit the skin in a range of other ways
3. Apply two drops of oil to one finger base. Rub it into two fingers using thumb, then press into skin all over. It is important that you do not rub oil into your skin as it is too thick and will not be absorbed properly that way
4. Remember to use this as your last step after you have applied your face cream and whilst your face is still moist
5. Never apply too much, stick to the amount mentioned above and once applied do not touch your skin. After 10- 15 minutes it will be absorbed by your skin and you will be glowing!
